Securing environmental rights in your state can be a daunting task when you don’t have the proper knowledge\, tools\, and guidance. \nGreen Amendments For The Generations and partnering organizations will help passionate community members become Green Amendment Leaders! Green Amendment Leaders must participate in 3 interactive training sessions to have a detailed understanding of Green Amendment language in the context of your state and feel prepared to take on the activities needed to drive this movement forward. \nBy the end of this hands-on training program you will know how to:\n*talk about the Green Amendment and refer to resources\n*secure a municipal resolution in your town\n*ask and gain support from others including individuals\, businesses\, civic or environmental groups\n*set up an appointment and talk with your state’s legislators\n*discuss the benefits of a Green Amendment and how it can help end Environmental Racism \nAt completion of this program\, participants are expected to take the knowledge and skills onward into their communities in order truly be a Green Amendment Leader. \nRegistration is closed.\nEmail GAFTG@forthegenerations.org to be put on a list to be notified the next time we run this training program. \nSession 4 is the optional practice session and was previously scheduled for December 16 but has been since rescheduled for January 7\, 6:00-7:30pm ET on Zoom. \nAre YOU Ready to become a Green Amendment Leader?

Maya was a lead petitioner in the 2013 landmark Robinson Township\, Delaware Riverkeeper Network\, et. al. v. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania case that breathed new life into Pennsylvania’s long ignored environmental rights amendment. A skilled activist\, attorney\, strategist and community organizer\, she was named in 2020 as a River Hero by River Network\, in 2019 as one of Philadelphia Business Journal’s Power 100\, and One Of The “10 Most Influential People of 2015” When It Comes to Energy Issues by SNL Energy. She is author of\, The Green Amendment\, Securing Our Right to a Healthy Environment which was selected as the 2018 Living Now Evergreen Awards GOLD Winner in the Nature Conservation category. Since launching Green Amendments For The Generations\, constitutional amendments have been proposed in New York\, New Jersey\, Maryland\, Vermont and West Virginia. \nThe Green Amendment believes that every person has a right to a clean and healthy environment\, including pure water\, clean air\, and ecologically healthy habitats\, and to the preservation of the natural\, scenic\, historic\, and esthetic qualities of the environment.
